Shauna Sorensen
Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer
In affiliation with The Shops at Atlas park, Shauna and Annabelle are presenting their new collaborative work "Gossamer.
"Gossamer"explores what happens to a community during times of crisis. Saturday's performance explores the ideas of REST and Sunday's performance will explore the idea of GROWTH. There will be guest performances by student dancers Maya Podejma and Kiara Ramos Bravo. Painter and dancer have explored how the movement of the dancer can influence the brush strokes of the painter, and how the movement of the painter can influence the choreography of the dancer. Each performance is different and new movement/art work will be presented during each section. "Gossamer" is where visual and performance art become one.
At the end of each performance there will be an audience interaction portion where the audience will be given a chance to create their own art along side Annabelle and Shauna.
“This event is made possible by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.”
